2022 E-rate Recipients

Nebraska Libraries Receive E-rate Discounts

As of August 4, 2022, all Nebraska public library E-rate applications that were submitted have been approved for Funding Year 2022 (July 1, 2022-June 30, 3023). The libraries will receive $370,126 in discounts on their Internet access and Internal Connections costs.

Discounts ranged from 60 to 90 percent - the average discount was 74%. Sixty five of the state's public libraries participated, with 64 awarded discounts on Internet services, 3 libraries awarded discounts on Fiber Special Construction, and 4 libraries awarded discounts on Internal Connections. 

Discounts are awarded on a sliding scale based on the percentage of students in the local school district who are eligible for the free and reduced school lunch program, an indicator of the local level of need, and the County's Rural or Urban status as determined by the U.S. Census.  

The Nebraska Library Commission provides education, training, and consultation services to Nebraska public library staff to assist with E-rate applications.
