2020 E-rate Recipients

Nebraska Libraries Receive E-rate Discounts

Nebraska libraries were awarded $188,115 in discounts on their Internet Access and Internal Connections costs during Funding Year 2020 (July 1, 2020-June 30, 2021).

Discounts ranged from 50 to 90 percent - the average discount was 73%. Sixty of the state's public libraries participated, with 57 libraries awarded discounts on Internet services and 8 libraries awarded Internal Connections/Basic Maintenance discounts.

Discounts are awarded on a sliding scale based on the percentage of students in the local school district who are eligible for the free and reduced school lunch program, an indicator of the local level of need, and the County's Rural or Urban status as determined by the U.S. Census.  

The Nebraska Library Commission provides education, training, and consultation services to Nebraska public library staff to assist with E-rate applications.
