Below are several resources intended to help you develop a policy for document retention. The first link, from the National Council of Nonprofits, provides some general background and information about document retention. The second link is to the guidelines for general record retention for local agencies which can be found on the State of Nebraska Judicial Branch's website (link), followed by the Nebraska Library Commission's records retention and disposition schedule as an example. Lastly, there are several other examples of records retention policies from three public libraries.
